Not that I'm complaining about it, and here's why: That moment in the middle of the trailer when Susan Sarandon, all blowsy-grandma, bellows "You put a TOMB IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR HOUSE!" That moment has seriously been one of my favorite movie moments of 2009, just from the trailer. Part of it is how rousing the line is, coming as the action starts to build. Part of it is that it's kind of campy and over-the-top. And part of it is my thrill at seeing Susan Sarandon back in action after too long on the sidelines. I seriously want to pump my fist and cheer every time.*
Runner-up for Trailer Moment I Cherish this year: Alec Baldwin's deadpan "Oh Em Gee, I thought he'd never leave" in the It's Complicated trailer. Kills me dead every time.
*I talked about this moment on the Film Experience podcast with Nathaniel and Katey. This was our grand return to podcasting for the movie awards season. Please do check it out.
