Such a brilliant trailblazer, a comedic genius if there ever was one. He pointed out the absurd in the ordinary, usually in a scathing, yet oddly relatable tone. He was an endearing rageaholic and a sharp intellectual. He made smart comedy out of the basest subjects, the most mundane subjects, and the most polarizing subjects. I admired him to a huge degree, and I wish I'd seen him perform more often. What a tragic loss.

Even when I was, like, 8, I could never stop hysterically laughing when a special of his was on or my dad was playing one of his albums.
