Carol Channing offends gay community. Gay street gangs assemble to harass her on the streets and stomp on Original Broadway Cast Recordings of Hello, Dolly.

In a related story: New Studio 60 recap! Find out how many different combinations I can find for [word meaning "gay"] [word meaning "hooligan"]

I remember when Carol Channing's withered minstrel stylings first entered my nightmares. I was 7 years old and she was on "The Muppet Show" singing "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" with Miss Piggy.

Still, in Channing's defense, it's not like we should be looking to her for "tolerance". She's old enough to have owned slaves, don'cha know.

(Can I get away with that?)

to aaron c: Only when it's true (and we all know it's true, and that she probably still has one straggler hidden in her basement).

I must say I do love Carol Channing, just for the brass of still not caring after finding out it was a gay mag. If you're going to be boldly controversial then at least be consistent.

Besides really, who cares about Carol Channing, the last anyone heard of her she was boxing Mike Tyson.

For the record, I totally didn't care about what Carol Channing said, as I'm not fifty years old. If Christina Aguilera ever said something like that? I might need some therapy.
